COOKING WITH KIDS: THE KNIFE CUTS BOTH WAYS

Wassenaar-over the past weekend I experienced how fun and wise it is to also with the (Grand) children to cook real meals. Twenty children with their pa or ma reallyprepares a four-course menu. "Way too dangerous for those little children. Those bigknives and that scorching hot grill plates on the stove ". Some have that bias. Others know that children in the age group of 7 to 10 years know where the dangers are andwhere the challenge awaits.

"Important is it that your children seriously and explain the challenges in a pleasant atmosphere." Every child understands that you can cut with a knife. But how? That can you explain and they at the same time pointing out the risks. The same is true ofscorching hot grill plates and soup pans. If the kids know how to do it, then you give them the space to really learn discover cooking. Without baloney and crazy jokes. It goes without saying that one of the parents accompanying the children and offersthem the space to discover. So take the time for that. Teach them safe cutting, how to cook and how tasty it all can be.

So no childish dishes, but ordinary meals without much fuss and a lot of color and taste. Who feel a little in the children can deepen, soon discovered what the favoriteingredients, which you can start with them. We opted for colorful ingredients:

CAPRINO
Bright red tomato with green Zucchini and white goat cheese. Tri Colore! A delicious flavor combination, which was appreciated by the kids.

PUMPKIN SOUP IN PUMPKIN
Along with papa such a great pumpkin soup can erode the serving. Pretty sweet souptaste of chicken stock, pumpkin and fine pieces of Apple.


FRESH PASTA ITSELF KNEADING AND ROLLING
With 200 grams of flour and 2 eggs you can enjoy a beautiful view, manage to ball of dough out of it. After half an hour in the fridge, the kids the rolling out and cutting inWISPs. This is possible with a pasta cutter, but also with a knife. You roll it thin wisps of pasta dough on uitgewalste and cut there. Then just run together in some flour and let dry.

MAKE PASTA SAUCE ITSELF IS MORE FUN THAN FROM A JAR.
The children find it surprising to experience how easy it is to own a red sauce to make,herbs and to warm up. Well and then when the pasta with red sauce and the hardgreen broccoli with carrots on the table, then you can see the children rays. All signs were eaten empty in no time.
